Initial Thoughts

Have you ever had someone ask you what your birth plan was? And maybe you never thought about it before or maybe you had put hours of research in and came up with beautiful, color-coded plans A, B, and C… And then the person who asks you says, “Well it doesn’t even matter, because as soon as you go into labor/the hospital all plans go out the window! Good luck! Etc.”! Followed soon after by their own horrifying birth story, yadda, yadda, yadda… Leaving you looking like a deer in the headlights questioning every decision you’ve made leading up to you getting pregnant. I HATE THAT!!!! Let’s stop THAT! Just because birth is unpredictable, doesn’t mean we can’t envision what we want our birth to be like. And better yet, no matter what society may think, there are certain aspects of birth that we do have control over, like who we want there with us cheering us on! And one of those people can be a doula, and that’s where I come in. I have been fascinated by birth since I was a little girl watching A Baby Story on TLC with my mom. And then after my own traumatic birth, I really felt a calling to do something to help birthing people never have to go through what I did. I would be honored if you chose me to help you and your family achieve the birth of your dreams and bring new life into this world!
