Free Initial Consultation:
Where we get to know each other and discuss your goals and expectations of our relationship. This is then followed by a 7-day decision period where we will determine if we are compatible to work together.
If you decide you want to hire me, I will have you fill out a Doula Intake Form (I’ll send you the password for the website link.) so that I can prepare any special accommodations for your unique circumstances. I will send you copies of our contract and social media release form to complete and return to me.
I make myself available to you via text, phone, or email throughout our relationship for any questions or concerns that come up throughout the course of your pregnancy that you would like my input/advice.
First Prenatal Appointment (usually between 14-28 weeks gestation):
This is usually held virtually via Zoom or Google Meet and lasts approximately 1 hour. At this appointment we will discuss how you are coping with pregnancy, address any questions you may have, discuss how your pregnancy is being treated medically (OB or midwife), and develop a birth plan together.
Second Prenatal Appointment (usually between 28-38 weeks gestation):
This is usually in-person, at your home, and lasts approximately 2 hours. We will catch up, run through your birth plan and make any adjustments, if necessary. We will discuss what to expect out of your pregnancy in the weeks to come and signs of labor. We will practice labor coping mechanisms, breathing and relaxation techniques, and I’ll answer any questions you may have.
“On-call” starting at 38th week of pregnancy until baby is born:
This means that I am prepared and anticipating you to call me any time, day or night, when you think you are in labor, and I will make myself available in whatever capacity we agreed upon in our contract.
Labor & Delivery:
I stay with you and your birth team providing continuous support until baby enters the world. I provide help with navigating labor sensations, labor positioning, nourishment, communication between family and/or staff, etc.
Golden Hour:
I will stay with you 1-2 hours after birth for reflection, questions, feeding aid, bonding, recovery, and baby basics.
24-48 Hour Check-In:
I will check in to see if you need anything before you leave the hospital or other birthing location.
One Postpartum Visit- up to 3 hours (usually between 2 and 12 weeks after delivery):
Potential Discussion Topics:
Healing process (physical, emotional, mental)
How are you adjusting to parenthood?
Plans for returning to work? (If applicable)
Postpartum Depression
Baby basics (eating, sleeping, diapering)
Breastfeeding/Pumping
Family relationship dynamic changes
